THE Queensland State Sheep Show saw some of Queensland and Australia’s best Merino sheep on display in Charleville on Friday and Saturday.
Judging began on Friday afternoon before a State Sheep Show dinner was held at the Charleville RSL on Friday night and champions awarded on Saturday.
The Brumpton family, Mount Ascot and Jolly Jumbuck studs, Mitchell had a thumping win when their ram, Mount Ascot Bill was named Queensland Junior Ram of the Year and Queensland Ram of the Year.
The Brumpton children, Felicity, Charlie and Lachie Brumpton were also awarded the Grand Champion All Purpose Merino with a ram from their stud, Jolly Jumbuck Poll Merinos.
In the ewe class it was the Roberts Family, Victoria Downs, Morven who took out both the Queensland Junior Ewe of the Year and Queensland Ewe of the Year.
