Beef Australia 2018 have revealed at their Brisbane launch television’s Iron Chef will be a special guest at the Rockhampton event from May 6 to 12 next year.

Celebrity chef, Hiroyuki Sakai, is most famous for appearing on television show The Iron Chef over nine seasons and has the third highest winning percentage on the program.

Chef Sakai is well-known in Japan for specializing in French cuisine.

Outside of Iron Chef, Mr Sakai is the owner of the restaurant La Rochelle, originally in Aoyama and then moved to Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan.

The restaurant was named after La Rochelle, a city in France, where Mr Sakai had spent some time as an apprentice chef.

"I’m really looking forward to attending Beef 2018, I love cooking with Australian beef very much!" chef Sakai said.

Beef Australia CEO Denis Cox said they were delighted to secure the Iron Chef to Beef Australia 2018.

“Chef Sakai is well known around the world and we look forward to him working his magic on some beautiful Australian beef," Mr Cox said.

As well as chef Sakai, Beef 2018 has secured their very own homegrown talent Matt Golinski who is returning for his second Beef Australia event. Also, Tarek Ibrahim from the Middle East and Sam Burke from Meat and Livestock Australia will be cooking up a beef storm. Alistair McLeod is also returning to showcase his skills and Shane Bailey will be coming back on board as the celebrity chef coordinator and adding his own flavours to the beef expo.
