The weight of deteriorating seasonal conditions clearly affected clearance rates at last week’s February All breeds Bull and Female Sale.
Brahmans were numerically the largest breed on offer. Brahman females topped proceedings at $15,000 while their male counterparts hit $13,000.
Selling agents assisted the final ‘at auction’ clearance figure due to after sale transactions. In all 265 lots averaged $4989 to gross $1.32M.
Brahmans
Brahman females topped the sale with Kenrol Miss Summit 2816 (AI) (H) (12-months) offered by Ken and Wendy Cole, Kenrol Stud, Gracemere selling for $15,000 to John and Sue Joyce, Tropical Cattle Stud, Ingham. In all 37 females averaged $4257.
Used sires topped at $13,000 when FBC Becker 191/1 (H) (eight-years) offered by Lee and Gillian Collins, Wandilla Stud, Marlborough sold to Lisle Holdings, Grosvenor Park, Marlborough.
At $12,000 was the sale opener, Woodstock Geronimo (P) offered by the Woodstock Stud, Mackay selling to the NK Stud, Theodore and Geneva Anthony Manso (AI) (D) offered by the Pickersgill family, Theodore selling to the Comerford family, Turrawulla, Nebo.
Droughtmaster
Droughtmaster bulls topped proceedings on the final day of trade. Sectional topper at $13,000 was a 1020kg, 28-month-old, herd bull offered by Nic and Rhonda Dudarko, Kangarin, Biloela selling to Donald and Wendy Brown, Latrobe Stud, Longreach.
At $11,000 the 26-month-old, Scrubby Mt Eddy (P) offered by vendors, Allan and Nardia Gillies, Scrubby Mt Stud, Gin Gin changed hands selling to Kendah Enterprises, Gracemere. Three from the Scrubby Mt prefix averaged $6500. Bryvonlea principals, Brian and Yvonne Heck, Gympie took a $10,000 sale for the two-year-old, Bryvonlea Quadell (P) (724kg) (128EMA) selling to Mark and Leonie Davey, Emerald.
Brangus
Twenty three Brangus bulls sold setting a $6522 average to clear 72 pc of the section. At $12,000 the 952kg, 36-month-old, Doonside Flybuy (P) offered by Bill and Kay Geddes, Doonside Stud, Barmoya sold to Collingvale Pty Ltd, Dingo Beach. Maccaboyz Maximus (26-months) sold for $11,000 offered by the Maccaboyz prefix, Yargullen to Bill and Sue Pickersgill, Geneva, Theodore. Setting a $7000 average for their four were Nebo breeders, the Kime family, Amaroo Stud.
Charbray
Charbray bulls topped at $10,000 to average $4636, clearing 92pc of the offering.
Colinta Knight (P) (28-months) (752kg) (136EMA) offered by Colinta Holdings, Meteor Downs, Springsure made $10,000 selling to Lake Elphinstone Partnership, Nebo.
The next best at $5500 was another bull from Colinta selling to Kim Ford, Summerdell, Jericho.
Simmental
In all 12 Simmental bulls topped at $10,000 to set an average $5167 to record an overall clearance of 92 percent.
Sectional topper was the 24-month, 910kg, 140EMA, Lucrana L02 (P) offered by Lucrana Simmentals, Texas and selling to Double Diamond Rural, Bundaberg.
At $9500 a half brother, Lucrana L03 (P) (920kg) (142EMA) offered by the same vendor sold to Turley Cattle Company, Wandovale Station, Charters Towers.
