Pic Bernard Lindsay, Max Golder and Brad Jenkinson have recorded excellent results on Mr Lindsay’s property at Lah, north of Warracknabeal, this year.
BERNARD and Simone Lindsay have been on their property ‘Prospect’ at Lah, north of Warracknabeal for over 20 years.
Prior to that, Simone’s family, the Marshmans had farmed the country for over 100 years.
Never in that long period of time has there been a season quite so good as this.
“It has been our best year ever in terms of grain yields,” Mr Lindsay said.
“Things worked out just perfectly for us.
“Not far to the north or to the east, believe it or not, it got a little dry in early September and that cost them some top-end yield and to the south there was frost.
“We have been fortunate enough to avoid either problem and it has been a fantastic year.”
Mr Lindsay said yields were solid across the board.
“We had wheat, barley, canola and legumes and we were pretty happy with them all.”
He said there was no clear stand-out paddock, saying the overall consistency of the crop was the talking point.
