Helicopter owners can now access expert maintenance and overhauls without having to go to Brisbane or the Coast thanks to newly established Cecil Plains business HeliSmart.
HeliSmart is owned by experienced helicopter engineer Andrew Leach and pilot Ben Smart, and specialises in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, rebuilds, overhauls and repairs of helicopters, they’re also CASA approved to carry out light turbine maintenance.
Mr Leach said by situating HeliSmart at Cecil Plains near Dalby it will save regional clients time and money.
“I know the challenges associated with traveling long distances and dealing with controlled air space. Our custom built hanger provides easy fly-in-fly-out access without the hassle and expense,” he said.
“We also provide remote base servicing and field repairs and can get to a break down quickly with access to a fixed wing aeroplane.”
Mr Leach possesses extensive industry experience having trained at the Robinson main base in California and more than 12 years’ working with Cloncurry Mustering Company, Aeropower Redcliffe and Heli-Muster at Victoria River Downs Station in the Northern Territory.
“With my background in the helicopter mustering industry, Robinson helicopters, and having worked as chief engineer on a station, I know how important ti is to limit down time while ensuring your maintenance is carried out to the highest safety standards.”
