Growing popularity for black Simmentals was evident at the Clay Gully Invitation bull sale on Monday, August 29.
The sale started with the first few lots of the blacks offered hitting $14,000 twice.
Lavarta King Kong (P) by Woonallee Half Back (P) reached $14,000 and was purchased by Graham and Robyn Harland, Injune while Lavarta Kung Fu Panda (P) by Lavarta Final Verdict (P) was purchased by Carlow Creek Grazing, Dingo.
Both lots were offered by the Newlands Family, Lavarta, Captains Mountain.
Soon after Clay Gully Kenya K649 was snapped up for $15,000 by the Hampson Family of Springfield Simmentals, Monto.
Kenya offered by the Laycock family was by the sire Barana Earlwood (P).
Also offered by the Laycock family was sale topper Clay Gully Karaka K635 by Bokara Freightliner who sold for $15,500 and purchased by the Mobbs Family, Gowrie, Charleville.
Volume buyers on the day included the Jones family, Theodore, Carlow Creek Grazing, Dingo.
Clay Gully Kenya was snapped up for $15,000 by the Hanson Family of Springfield Beef, Monto. Kenya offered by the Laycock family was by the sire Barana Earlwood (P).
Many repeat buyers were in attendance with bulls going from Beaudesert in the south to Nebo districts.
The Clay Gully invitation sale included vendors from Biarra Valley, Clay Gully, Kipper Springs, Lavarta, Springfield and Yeeha studs presenting traditional, black and Simbrah bulls to buyers.
