TECHNOLOGY is delivering massive competitive advantages to agriculture in northern Australia and it is also revolutionising the way in which Queensland Country Life connects with its readers.

Just as industry has embraced and invested in new techniques and technology, Queensland Country Life is evolving and changing to ensure it remains the leading source of agricultural news and information for northern Australia.

On Thursday, Queensland Country Life, partnered by Rabobank, officially launched its exciting new iPhone app.

This new app, which is ready to download now free of charge at the App Store, is designed to “let you carry your paper in your pocket”.

It is easy to use, puts the best agricultural news and information at your fingertips, and means Queensland Country Life is now accessible anywhere, anytime, anyway you want it.

For most of our readers – cattlemen and women, stock agents, ringers, farmers, agri-professionals and government ministers – this is in print; the Bible of the Bush collected from the roadside mailbox or picked up religiously every Thursday from the local newsagent.

However, technology is changing and, with it, our capacity to deliver the same high quality news, markets information, livestock sale reports and on-farm stories to readers faster and in more ways than ever before – be it in print, online via queenslandcountrylife.com.au or via iPad or the all new Queensland Country Life iPhone app.

The iPhone app allows readers to keep in touch with the latest breaking news, track local weather conditions and see pictures and videos from around the country.

And because we know not every paddock gets good service – or even any – we’ve made it easy to pre-load stories to read when you are out of range.

These new technologies extend Queensland Country Life’s reach and its ability to inform, influence and be a champion for the bush as never before.

The app launch is another important chapter in Queensland Country Life’s proud and enduring relationship with the bush.

We trust it will become an important business tool, a way to stay informed and connected, entertained and empowered.
