Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 385 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers decreased by 37 head on the previous week. Values improved across the sale on prime cattle. Store steers came back on last week and store heifers showing an improvement up 22c/kg.
The yarding consisted of 62 steers av. 219.5c/kg selling to a top of 257.2c, 114 bulls av. 176.7c selling to a top of 267.2c, 105 cows av. 140.9c selling to a top of 195.2c, 36 heifers av. 179.7c selling to a top of 195.2c, 48 yearling steers av. 192.6c selling to a top of 220.2c and 19 yearling heifers av. 158.5c selling to a top of 168.2c.
The usual group of local wholesale buyers, meat processors and local growers and fatteners attended.
