Burnett Livestock & Realty’s meatworks and store sale on Monday saw a yarding of 721 head on the back of 15mm of rain. The widespread rain across parts of Queensland and NSW, although limited, seemed to put some optimism in the market with prices generally dearer across the board.
Bullocks over 600kg sold to 288c and cows over 500kg sold to 228c. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to 216c. Feeder steers 400kg to 500kg sold to a top of 281c while steers 300kg to 400kg sold to 273c. Steers 200kg to 300kg sold to 278c. Heifers 300kg to 400kg sold for 247c and heifers 200kg to 300kg sold to 266c.
