ABSOLUTE riverfront Brisbane property Jedburgh sold under the hammer for $2.125 million at a Ray White Rural auction.
The auction attracted nine registered bidders, which was a result of the 110 separate inspections undertaken in the past five weeks. The buyers were a Brisbane based couple.
The vendors were Brisbane based Anaesthetist Dr Anne Cunningham and her retired psychologist husband Rod Cunningham.
Jedburgh is located 20 minutes to both the Brisbane CBD and Queensland University, in the long term blue chip inner city ring suburb of Kenmore. The 0.53 hectares (1.3 acres) of lovely gardens and striking huge river gums give this unique elevated property a botanical gardens feel.
Adding to the attraction of Jedburgh are the neighbouring 280ha university of Queensland Vet Farm and the 2ha environmental park, used by the Yarawa Pony Club.
The riverfront position provides 76m of elevated Brisbane River frontage plus a similar frontage to Moggill Creek.
The circa-1884 family colonial was moved from the inner Brisbane suburb of Windsor by the current owners onto its Kenmore site in 1994. Lovers of period homes will really appreciate the extensive original colonial architectural features.
Jedburgh features four bedrooms with sleep-out and study. There is a tennis court and a deep water pontoon has a built-in ledge to launch kayaks when exploring both the river and creek.
Jedburgh will be auctioned by Ray White Rural in Brisbane on March 23.
Inspections are from 10.30am-11.30am on Saturdays and Sundays, or by appointment.
The marketing of Jedburgh was handled by Barry Quinn, Ray White Rural.
