Sheep and lamb numbers were limited on AuctionsPlus this week with only 1225 head being offered from the sunshine state and not surprisingly, 100 per cent clearance was recorded. This was a decrease of 2043 head from last week.
A line of Karbullah blood Merino ewes from Goondiwindi sold for $118. These ewes are 6 years old, and weigh 57kg with 2.75” wooly jacket. Also from Goondiwindi a line of Centreplus and Karbullah blood, Poll Merino ewes sold for $154. They are aged 19 to 20 months and weigh 48kg freshly shorn. From Thallon a line of Etiwanda and Bellevue White Dorper wether lambs sold for $115. These are August / October 2017 drop and weigh 42kg.
Cattle numbers decreased to 1300 head, a dip of 258 head. Breeders made up the majority of the offerings with 797 head listed, 397 steers were offered and heifers made up the rest of the catalogue with 112 head.
A line of Droughtmaster and Santa cows from St George sold for $1510. These cows are aged 2 to 4 years, weigh 445kg and are PTIC to Santa and Angus bulls. From Goombungee a line of 4 to 5 year old Angus cows sold for $1650. These proven breeders weigh 501kg and are PTIC to Wagyu bulls. A line of crossbred cows from Springsure sold for $1150. They are aged from 2 to 12 years, weigh 500kg and are PTIC to Angus and Murray Grey bulls.
Cow and calf highlights include a line of 2 to 4 year old Droughtmaster and Santa cows and calves from St George which sold for $1800. These cows weigh 407kg and have been joined to Santa and Angus bulls. The Droughtmaster and Santa calves at foot are 1 to 11 months old and weigh an averaged of 170kg. From Bell a line of 4 Angus cows and calves sold for $2070. They are aged 3 to 5 years, weigh 589kg and have been joined to Angus bulls. The Te Mania blood Angus calves at foot are 2 months old and weigh 88kg. A line of Blemont Red cross and Droughtmaster cross cows and calves from Bluff sold for $1600. They are aged 3 to 11 years, weigh 492kg and have been joined to Droughtmaster, Blemont Red and Brangus bulls. The calves at foot are 2 to 16 weeks old and weigh 148kg.
Steer highlights include a line of crossbred steers, aged 12 to 20 months, weighing 248kg from Hughenden which sold for 337c. Droughtmaster and Droughtmaster cross steers, aged 12 to 17 months, weighing 246kg, from Cooladdi, sold for 369c. Angus and Angus cross steers, aged 7 to 12 months, weighing 293kg, from St George sold for 341c.
