There were 216 head yarded at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. With the local area still very wet, a lighter yarding was offered, with all types selling to strong rates.
Gerber Farms, Claredon, sold dairy culls for $1340 and 5 month old Friesian male calves for $665. Vern and Kim Duncan, Mt Mee, sold 12 month old Charbray steers for $1030, Brahman steers for $990 and 12 month old heifers for $945.
CG & SK Smith, Mt Archer, sold Brangus weaner steers for $940. Sommer Brothers, Maleny, sold 2 tooth Hereford steers for $1280 and heifers for $1200, as well as mixed cows making $1310.
NW & LM Dunn, Kilcoy, sold 6-8 month old Murray Grey weaners, with steers making $835 and heifers making $710. K Galloway, Samford, sold a Braford steer for $1660. DA Bond, Mt Pleasant, sold Brangus cows and calves for $1610.
