A total of 328 head were yarded at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday.
With good rainfall continuing to fall in the local area the market remained strong for all types, with western buyers prominent. Keith Lesperance, Neurum, sold 20 month old Droughtmaster heifers for $1350. Ken Galloway, Samford, sold a line of Braford steers for $1700 and a line of cows for $1530.
Elizabeth Mumford, Kurwongbah, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1280. Bob Nicholls, Comissioners Flat, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1875 and lines of yearling bulls for $1130. Keith Armitage, Beerburrum, sold a line of 20-22 month old Droughtmaster steers for $1300. Wildalpen, Bellthorpe, sold a line of Droughtmaster steers for $1155.
W&G Hanton, Kilcoy, sold 6 month old Droughtmaster steers for $875 and a cow and calf for $1700. Ray Smoothy, Elgin Vale, sold lines of Santa calves, 5-6 months, with steers making $770 and heifers $790. B&S Cavanagh, Maleny, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $900.
