The Rockhampton Regional Council is driving an economic agenda which puts your industry front and centre.
We are determined to capitalise on our abundant water and agricultural opportunities to reinforce our existing base as the Beef Capital of Australia and to develop new opportunities for other produce.
Water and beef are regularly part of our region's conversation. But it is the action words that are really the most important part of this sentence. They are 'capitalise’, ‘reinforce’ and ‘develop’.
I'm proud of the way that our economic development team, Advance Rockhampton, are really getting down to business and working beside our producers and businesses to support their growth and understand opportunities that could leverage their businesses.
We know our airport’s competitive advantage is its freight capacity and our conversations with potential investors are moving quickly.
We have received strong interest from primary production investors as well as significant international players who are keen to form partnerships with us around cargo facilities at our airport.
Beef Australia is always a welcome boost for our region and our agricultural industry. It is a very exciting time of year, particularly we as welcome so many visitors to this great event that connects Rockhampton and our beef industry to the rest of the world.
Rockhampton Regional Council takes great pride in supporting this national and international event, which, in turn, provides support to our own agricultural industry and local economy.
The opportunities to collaborate with the Asian market are boundless and Beef Australia provides another opportunity for us to build on the relationships we have established within the Asian market through delegations and trade missions to Singapore and China.
In fact, our Advance Rockhampton team has conducted 45 delegations in the past 15 months and we look forward to the return of many dignitaries during this event.
Please visit our Advance Rockhampton team at their stand (69-70) in Walter Pierce Pavilion and our Explore Rockhampton stand (3) in the Sidney Kidman Pavilion to find out more about our beautiful region and our work to progress new opportunities within the agriculture sector.
