One of the most important facets of Beef Australia is our schools and education program. While growing the beef industry and facilitating new trade opportunities is at forefront of Beef Australia’s agenda, our efforts would be wasted if we did not invest in engaging with the next generation of Australians.
The Beef Australia schools program was developed to give primary and secondary students a hands on opportunity to learn about the beef industry from paddock to plate. For primary students it is the opportunity to learn where their food comes from and develop a better understanding of the importance of our farmers and food producers to our social fabric.
The Schools Program also gives secondary students an insight into the economic importance of the Australian Beef Industry. Our industry requires a vast range of skill sets and engaging with students early is a key to ensuring that we have young people thinking about careers in our industry. We want to ensure the next generation understand that there is a bright future for beef production.
The beef industry has hundreds of remarkable success stories to share. It is about celebrating our rich cultural pastoral history and illustrating the exciting trends in our industry going forward. Engaging young people and sparking a passion within them for the beef industry, we will help secure its future. Make sure you take the opportunities at Beef 2018 to share your story with the tens of thousands of beef consumers coming along.
We would also like to encourage all schools to give their students the opportunity to attend Beef Australia. If you would like to register your students, please visit: www.beefaustralia.com.au/learn/kids
