Despite the large numbers, medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold close to firm at Dalby.

Numbers increased to 7417 head at Dalby on Wednesday, the highest level since September 2015. Included in the much larger line-up were over 1000 head from South Australia and 2300 head from far west Queensland.

Despite the large numbers, medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold close to firm and the yearling heifers remained within 3c to 7c of the previous week’s levels.

Bullocks experienced little change, however cows eased some of the previous week’s gains to average 8c to13c less.

Yearling steers to feed sold from 253.2 to 305.2 to average 286.7c, up 3c. Yearling heifers to feed eased 7c to make from 250c to 285.2c and averaged 271.6c.

Grown steers sold firm from 260c to 278.2c to average 273.6c. Grown heifers also sold firm from 260c to 268 to average 264.8c. Heavy cows eased 12c to make from 214.2c to 221.2c. The best of the bulls made to 273.2c.
