Roma's prime sale yarded a total of 1041 head of cattle on February 8.

A total yarding of 1041 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s prime sale on Thursday, February 8.

Steers over 550kg sold to 272c/kg and averaged 265c, while steers in the 400-550kg sold for 270c, averaging 263c.

Yarrawonga Cattle Co, Yarrawonga, Wallumbilla sold Santa steers at 272c at 683kg returning $1860. SJ&NE Ward, Wilga Park, Injune sold Brahman steers at 268c at 512kg returning $1374.

Heifers over 450kg made to 259c and averaged 247c, heifers in the 350-450kg sold for 255c, averaging 236c.

Mrs Statham, Posession Creek, Mitchell sold Santa cross heifers at 259c at 550kg returning $1427. Ninderra Grazing Co, Ninderra, Injune sold Santa heifers at 255c at 516kg returning $1316. The Angus cross cows at 217c at 650kg returning $1411.

RH, MR&FL Miller, North Kooringa, Roma sold Angus heifers at 247c at 566kg returning $1400. JS Grazing, Double J, Injune sold Angus heifers at 240c at 660kg returning $1585. The Angus cows at 212c at 730kg returning $1549.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 220c and averaged 212c, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 210c and averaged 205c. Cows 300-400kg sold for 196c and averaged 185c.

KH&MJ Hiscock, Holly Downs, Augathella sold Angus cross cows at 216c at 562kg returning $1215. B Griffin, Sydeva, Yuleba sold Brahman cross cows at 209c at 462kg returning $966.

Bulls over 600kg earned to 258c and averaged 229c.
