There was a small increase in supplies for the final sale for the year at Dalby, with 4130 cattle yarded. Young cattle and cows were well supplied with a reduced penning of heavy steers and bullocks. All the usual buyers were in attendance and operating.
Overall the quality of the offering was mixed, while condition showed a great deal of variation. Some of the western cattle showed the effects of a poor season.
Market trends show light and medium weight yearling steers to restock and feed to be cheaper early in the sale. Heavy yearling feeder steers show a firm to slightly dearer trend. Yearling heifers sold to a slightly cheaper trend.
Heavy steers and bullocks remained firm. There is little but quality related change in the grown heifers. The cow market was up to 3c/kg dearer on the well finished heavy weights. Medium weight cows saw a firm to slightly dearer trend with some improvement in quality. Heavy bulls were firm to slightly cheaper.
