THE LNP will decide its next leader at a party room meeting starting at 2pm this afternoon.
The contenders are Deb Frecklington (Nanango), John-Paul Langbroek (Surfers Paradise) and Mark Robinson (Oodgeroo).
While former deputy oppoistion leader Ms Frecklington is widely considered the front runner, former LNP leader John-Paul Langbroek is also expected to provide strong competition.
Mr Langbroek was LNP leader from 2009 to 2011, prior to resigning to make way for Campbell Newman.
Ms Frecklington has teamed up with Tim Mander as her deputy.
The leader will be selected by the LNP’s 39 members of parliament through an exhaustive vote process.
Each leadership contender will be given the opportunity to address the party room prior to voting.
According the Electoral Commission of Queensland, the LNP secured 33.69 per cent of the primary vote. Labor secured 35.43pc but won 48 seats and majority government.
The Palaszczuk government ministry was sworn in at 10.30am.
