Hopetoun has sold prior to auction reflecting the ongoing demand for rural property.

THE Gums property Hopetoun has sold prior to auction. 

The property was scheduled to be auctioned by Ray White Rural in Toowoomba tomorrow. 

The buyer nor the sale price has been disclosed.

Covering 1568 hectares (3873 acres) of principally melon hole brigalow and brigalow/belah country, Hopetoun has both native grasses and buffel on the ridge country.

The combination of grass country and cultivation allows for a carrying capacity of some 300 breeders.

Some 120ha of Hopetoun is currently cultitvated with an additional area of 160ha which has previously been used to grow crops. 

Improvements include a 1950s five bedroom homestead, three bedroom cottage, machinery shed, five stand shearing shed, and a weaning yard. Steel panel cattle yards with crush and branding cradle are supported with a set of steel panel holding yards.

Water sourced from 14 dams. There are 11 main paddocks and a holding paddock.
