LNP deputy leader Deb Frecklington is set to comfortably win the seat of Nanango with 68 per cent of the vote after preferences, well into the count on Saturday night.
In an election that saw a significant of swing against the LNP and support for One Nation, Mrs Frecklington bucked the trend to increase her majority in the seat centred on Kingaroy.
It is the third time Mrs Frecklington has won the seat. Her main opponent was One Nation’s Douglas Grant.
One Nation preferenced Labor ahead of the LNP in the seat.
In the adjoining seat of Gympie, Tony Perrett is also likely to be returned for a second term with more than 55pc of the vote.
In second place was One Nation’s Chelle Dobson.
One Nation also preferenced Labor ahead of LNP in Gympie.
