After recent heavy rains, the pastures have flourished and given restockers renewed enthusiasm and results at the recent Monto cattle sale reflected this.

Cattle and Country yarded 643 head for their fortnightly fat and store sale on November 8.  After recent heavy rains, the pastures have flourished and given restockers renewed enthusiasm.  Prime cattle and feeder cattle saw prices rise but young cattle saw the biggest gains of up to 30-40c/kg.

Heavy bulls sold from 204 to 257c/kg or $2177.  AG & TM Sibson sold Charbray cross bullocks at 640kg to return 284c/kg or $1818.  MN & SM Williams sold Charbray cross bullocks to 281c/kg or $1718.  WR & AJ Goody sold four-tooth heifers 466kg for $1236 or 265c/kg.  Odd heavy cows sold to 244c/kg or $1880.  CW & LC Wright sold Santa cross cows to $1292 or 228c/kg.  LR & AM Marshall penned Charbray cows 610kg to realise $1400 or 229c/kg.

BC, J & PL Pownall, Stockwell, Builyan sold Droughtmaster Brahman cross No.6 steers for 295c/kg or $1209.  Melinda Clarke sold Charbray steers 425kg for $3 or $1275.  Gordon Ogle’s Charbray feeder bullocks returned $1252 or 301c/kg.  Liberty Fields sold EU Brangus steers 326kg for $1022 or 313c/kg.

 McInnes Farming’s Santa Angus cross weaner steers sold to 395c/kg or $1070.  Meissner Pastoral Co’s Simmental Droughtmaster cross weaner steers sold to 387c/kg or $908.  John & Robyn Sinclair sold Santa No.6 heifers 277kg for 314c/kg or $870.  Liberty Field Brangus heifers 315kg sold to 291c/kg or $917.  McInnes Farming sold Santa Angus cross weaner heifers to 320c/kg or $810.  Ian McLaughlan yarded Droughtmaster weaner heifers to return $686 or 322c/kg.
