In a lovely gesture Mick Griffiths and Kendall Moore from Stannum Stock Horses will be offering a stylish young colt on the first day of the Dalby ASH Sale with all proceeds going to charity.
Stannum Tribute will go under the hammer as the last lot (51) on Saturday evening with the money raised from his sale being sent to the LifeFlight Foundation, in memory of Mick and Kendall’s close friend Rana Haager.
Kendall said they’re very grateful for LifeFlight and the vital services they provide.
“They picked up Rana after her brain aneurysm last year, which sadly she didn’t recover from,” she said.
“Rana loved coming to the Dalby sale and having a bid, so we thought by choosing Lifeflight as the charity recipient it would be a fitting tribute to her.”
Kendall said Tribute has many open campdraft winners in his pedigree and beautiful heritage blood.
“His sire is the 2011 Dalby Sale top price getter Ervines Gambler. He and Hydeout Freeman who we bought in 2010 privately after he was passed in at the sale remain as our two stud stallions.
“Tribute will be an asset in your breeding program or as a competitive gelding as he’s super quiet and trainable.”
Completing the Stannum draft for Dalby this year are Tribute’s full brother, Stannum Poker Knight in Lot 223 and his maternal sister Stannum Reverlee in Lot 98.
She said they enjoy attending the sale for its “great atmosphere and quality selection of stock and show horses on offer”.
