A total of 4260 cattle were yarded for the Blackall weaner and prime sale held on Thursday, October 26, making it the biggest cattle sale in Australia that week.
In response to recent rainfall throughout Queensland the Blackall sale resulted in prominent success with all categories of cattle selling at increased prices of 20c to 30c/kg,
Ryrie Grazing Co, Ryrie, Tambo, sold steers topping at 334.2c/kg and weighing 303kg and heifers at 316c/kg averaging 292kg.
MJ & SE Cameron, Romulus, Blackall, sold Simbrah feeder steers making 298.2c at 455.5kg, also selling Santa Gertrudis heifers at 271.9 kg for an average of 322.2c.
Adams & Son, Darracourt, Blackall, sold Santa cross feeder steers at 448.8kg for 296.2c, also sold Santa cross heifers at 373.3kg for 300.2c.
Duthie Park Grazing Co, Duthie Park, Blackall, sold Santa cross steers at 290.6kg for 356.2c also selling Angus heifers for 340.2c at 260.2kg.
GP Cattle Co, Portland Downs, Isisford, sold Santa heifers for 333.2c at 287.6kg. Granby Grazing Co, Granby, Blackall, sold Hereford cross steers at 313.8kg for 318.2c.
CJ & LC Hannay, Overton, Aramac, sold Droughtmaster cross steers at 170kg for 372.2c also selling Droughtmaster cross heifers for 344.2c at an average of 180.5kg.
