That’s according to Beef Expo representative John Wilkinson, Hock and Wilkinson who are the major organisers of the Clermont beef event.

“The event continues to grow bigger every single year,” Mr Wilkinson said.

He added the dry seasonal conditions across the region created some concern about lower numbers being entered in the Beef Expo’s prime/store cattle show and sale.

“Normally we would have 1400 head of cattle and we’re back to under 1000 head for this year’s Beef Expo competition,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“That's a reflection of how the season has been both in the condition of some cattle and also in the numbers available, but the community has supported us greatly and we’re very thankful to them all.”

More than 20 exhibitors had display stalls at the Clermont Beef Expo field day, which many livestock producers and farmers visited after the morning’s prime/store cattle show and sale last Wednesday.

“The number of sponsors for our beef expo event is growing every year and we're currently trying to come up with more cattle classes for the show and sale to accommodate the excellent support from our great sponsors,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“It's a situation of the dry weather has affected this year's beef expo, but the recent rainfall across this region has lifted the spirits of many producers and farmers at today's event.”

He added Hock and Wilkinson Livestock and Property agents would like to thank John Burnett and family for their continual support of the Clermont Beef Expo event.

“I’m confident next year's Clermont Beef Expo will be bigger and better than ever,” Mr Wilkinson said.

Sponsors of the Clermont Beef Expo included Isaac Regional Council, ANZ Agribusiness, NAB Agribusiness, Gregory Fabrications, Peringa Feedlot, GrainCorp/Molafos, Suncorp Agribusiness, Allflex, Burenda Angus and Brangus, Rabobank, Beta Polly, QRIDA, Wespac Agribusiness, Boehringer Ingelheim, Glencore Clermont Open Cut, Hanrick and Curran, Thynne and Macartney and Moongool Charolais.
