SIGNIFICANT rainfall and localised flooding has resulted in the closure of 15 state schools are closed this morning.
The closed schools are:
- Alloway State School.
- Avondale State School.
- Bullyard State School.
- Dallarnil State School.
- Givelda State School.
- Gooburrum State School.
- Goodwood State School.
- Kolan South State School.
- Lowmead State School.
- McIlwraith State School.
- Ridgelands State School.
- Rosedale State School.
- Wallaville State School.
- Wartburg State School.
- Yandaran State School.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education and Training said the safety of students, staff and community members is our highest priority.
“Parents and carers are advised to exercise caution when driving in bad weather and avoid taking unnecessary risks – if it’s flooded, forget it,” the spokesperson said.
A small number of schools and early childhood/day care services are closed today due to the weather conditions and isolated flooding that has made access for students and staff unsafe.
