Numbers reduced to 350 head for Monto Cattle and Country fortnightly fat and store sale with some good local falls of rain, however prices for better quality stores rose slightly, particularly weaner heifers.
Limited numbers of prime cattle were yarded.
Sale highlights included Alan and Helen Clifford’s Santa Angus No 6 steers 490kg selling to 279c/kg or $1368. BJ and CE Kennedy sold Brangus No 7 steers 303kg to 290c or $880.
IMR and JR Creed sold Angus weaner steers to 339c or $770 and weaner heifers to 295c or $682. Richie Bowman penned Charbray weaner steers 238kg which realised $810 or 339c while their little sisters sold to 289c or $603.
5th Generation Grazing sold Droughtmaster No 6 heifers 339kg for 270c or $916. Ashenhurst Partnership sold Droughtmaster Brahman cross heifers from 259c to 266c topping at $767. Ian McLaughlan’s Droughtmaster No 6 heifers 270kg sold to $742 or 274c.
