DESPITE election rumours swirling through Queensland's political cohort, the person in the know insists she is yet to make up her mind about the date.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made the comments before again stating journalists were the only people who were asking about the impending Queensland election.
"I haven't decided on the election date yet," she said.
"Like I said to you, the only people asking me about election dates are my friends here in the media.
"The people of Queensland are not asking me that question."
Ms Palaszczuk was asked about whether she wanted to get her property developer donation banpassed by this Parliament, before calling the state election.
The bill would ban donations by property developers at a local and state government level, and followed recommendations made by the Crime and Corruption Commission's Operation Belcarra.
The Parliamentary committee considering the bill is due to report back by November 27, and the last sitting week for 2017 begins the following day.
If Ms Palaszczuk said "yes", she does want the bill to pass before an election, Queenslanders would almost certainly be looking at a 2018 election date.
If she said "no", then an election could theoretically be called in the coming weeks and held in November.
The property developer legislation will be retrospective, meaning property developer donations will be banned from Thursday, but that only applies if the legislation is actually passed - which would be uncertain under a new-look Parliament following the election.
Ms Palaszczuk said she had not seen the sitting timetable for 2018, before it was pointed out to her that there was a sitting week from November 28 to 30 this year.
"Well, I haven't made a decision yet," she said, in relation to passing the bill before the election.
"The election's due next year, so let's wait and see - it'd have to be something quite big for me to change my mind."
"I would like them to be passed [the new laws] but let me make it very clear, every Queenslander knows my intention and they will be back-dated to the date of introduction, which was yesterday."
