The mixed yarding saw better quality and finished cattle fully firm to dearer at the October 11 Silverdale cattle sale.

Hayes & Co yarded 697 head at Silverdale on October 11 despite the wet weather. Cattle were drawn from all over south east Queensland and central Queensland and buyers travelled from as far as Darling Downs, Roma, Dalby and Taroom. The mixed yarding saw better quality and finished cattle fully firm to dearer while some plainer types remaining fully firm.

Highlights

Neuendorf Farming sold Droughtmaster cows for 272.2c to return $1414.  Coochin Farming sold Angus cross meatworks bull for 272.2c to return $1824. Begley Turf sold Charbray pasture steers for 289.2c to return $1345. A Gee sold Droughtmaster feeder steers for 296.2c to return $1170.

TC&JL Foote sold grain assisted with the steers making 294.2c to return $1159 and the heifers making 294.2c to return $1159. Copley Gully sold lines of feeder heifers for 283.2c to return $975.

LRC Kimber sold light restocker steers for 314.2c to return $610.  PA Philp sold top quality vealer steers for 343.2c to return $875.  The Turner Family of Nebo sold lines of vealer Braford heifers for 274.2c to return $465.  R Mcrae sold a line of Charbray re-stocker heifers for 270.2c to return $648.
