The Dalby Beef Bonanza hosted the Mooroobie and Warrawee Angus bull sale last Friday at the Dalby Saleyards.
Overall the bull sale achieved an 87 per cent clearance rate during the sale.
A Warrawee Angus bull called Warrawee Magnate M5 M05 (AI) topped the bull sale at $6250 with the sire being purchased by Armco, Goondoola, Talwood.
The 18-month-old Magnate bull weighed 756 kilograms with a scrotal measurement of 41 centimetres.
The top priced bull was sired Mohnen Dynamite 1356 USA 15585939 out of Warrawee B1 Midnight H4 (AI) QKBH4 cow who was by Te Mania Berkley bull.
“This Magnate bull has above average estimated breed values all the way through with M5 plus the thickness of Dynamite over a Berkley cow means thick, length calves,” Warrawee stud principal Gary Legg, Goombungee said.
Overall, the bull sale sold 34 bull out of the 39 bulls offered with a sale average of $4794 to gross $163,000.
The Warrawee Angus Stud sold 17 bulls out of the 18 bulls offered for 94 per cent clearance rate and a sale average price of $4941.
The Mooroobie Angus Stud sold 17 bulls out of the 21 bulls offered for an 81 per cent clearance rate and a sale average price of $4647.
A second top price of $6,000 was reached seven times during the bull sale. Lot 36 18-month-old Warrawee Maximus M27 (AI) reached $6,000, while Lot 11 29-month-old Warrawee Luckystrike L3 L03 (AI), Lot 12 18-month-old Warrawee Mightyman M13 (AI), Lot 10 27-month-old Mooroobie Len L32 (AI), Lot 15 18-month-old Warrawee Megaton M24 (AI), Lot 20 18-month-old Warrawee Marvel M6 M06 and Lot 14 Warrawee Mandate M7 M07 (AI) bulls also made $6000 during the sale.
