Monto Cattle & Country yarded 570 head for their fortnightly fat and store sale.
Meatworks cattle were in short supply while feeder and store steer markets held firm. Heifers were back slightly on last sale. Some good falls of rain over the long weekend saw 30-80mm of rain in most areas which should see markets hold or firm up. Cattle were drawn from Boyne Valley, Biloela, Dawes and Monto districts.
Heavy bulls sold to 235c/kg or $2285. Simmental 8 tooth bullocks sold 245c or $1545. Limited selection of meatworks cows sold to 200c or $1185.
Pat Williams sold Santa feeder steers 414kg for 277c or $1150. AD & HJ Clifford sold Angus and Santa feeder steers for 272c or $1050. Mick and Tracey Blue sold Red Brangus No.6 steers for 273c or $1093. Reg Kerle’s 380kg Charbray steers sold to 275c or $1045.
JT Cahalane penned Charbray weaner steers which sold to 355c or $868. Crabby Mountain Partnership sold Brahman cross weaner steers from 337 to 319c topping at $792. CS & ALR Anger’s Santa cross weaner steers sold to 339c or $760.
Judd and Sonya Clarke sold a run of Droughtmaster No.6 heifers averaging 370kg topping at 265c or $1000 to average $966. B Marbach penned Brangus No.6 heifers 427kg which returned $1150 or $269c. AD & HJ Clifford sold 354kg Angus heifers for 260c or $918. Larsen Farms sold Charbray weaner heifers for 252c or $530. CS Anger’s Santa cross and Brahman cross weaner heifers sold for $595or 257c.
