There was a small increase in supply to 4496 head and overall quality was mixed at this week’s Dalby sale. A fair panel of export and feeder buyers was present along with some interstate restockers.
Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed were firm to marginally better, while medium weight yearling heifers to feed lost 6c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to a market 2c easier. Cows to processers averaged 6c to 7c less, however PTIC to restockers improved in price.
Yearling steers 330-400kg made from 276.2c to 290.2c to average 282.8c. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 266.2c, back 4c to average 260.4c.
Heavy grown steers to processors made to a top of 271.2c to average 266.5c. Medium weight grown heifers sold from 217.2c to 240.2c and averaged 233.2c. Cows 520kg plus sold from 200c to 214.2c, back 6c, and averaged 209.1c. Heavy bulls made to 262.2c.
