RAIN may find some fortunate producers by the end of this week but it certainly won’t be a drought breaker.
This Friday is shaping as the best chance for rainfall in Queensland with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting “an upper trough to bring showers and isolated storms over the southeast and southern central inland”.
However, the falls won’t be anymore than a few millimetres.
Forecaster Jim Richardson said the rainfall would taper off around the Darling Downs with the western side a slight chance of rain.
He said the main rain activity had been in the north with the region from Carins to Cardwell seeing about 100mm.
“Our long range forecasts are for seven days and there is nothing out that far,” he said.
“Then past that there is so much inconsistency.”
The 28-day-rainfall forecast on FarmOnline indicates that the Darling Downs will have a high chance of rainfall on October 16 while the Wide Bay Burnett will have its strongest chance of falls on October 12.
In the Maranoa, there is a medium chance of rain on September 25.
