The Hatton family, Diamond H Santa Gertudis Stud sold 55 bulls for an average of $6291 and achieved a top price of $30,000 at their on-property sale at Diamond Downs, Wandoan last Friday.
In the breakdown of the result, 42 classifed ‘S’ bulls averaged $6919 while 13 purebred herd bulls averaged $4269 and overall achieved 80 per cent clearance.
Topping the sale draft was Diamond H Trickshot T275 (P), a son of Waco Chapman H80, bought by Cyril and Denise Gauld, Moongana Santa Gertrudis Stud, Drillham.
Diamond H Trickshot had a weight of 802kg, eye muscle area of 125aq cm and scrotal circumference of 39cm.
Mr Gauld said Trickshot appealed due to his breed character, bone and depth of body plus will be used over the Moongana stud females.
Next at $26,000 was Diamond H Tatic T162, a son of Warenda Equador (P) and was bought by commercial cattleman, John Howard, Burleigh Estates, Biloela.
Tatic T162 entered the sale ring at 856kg, recorded an eye muscle area of 123cm sq and scrotal circumference of 39cm.
Mr Howard also paid to $20,000 for Diamond H Thurston, a 22 month-old son of Waco Chapman.
Thurston weighed 950kg with an eye muscle area of 135cm sq and a scrotal circumference of 40cm.
Next at $18,000 was the 21-month-old Diamond H Thumper, by the home-bred sire Diamond H Larrikan (P). He was selected by David and Suzanne Bassingthwaighte, Waco Stud, Muldoon, Mungallala.
Paying to $14,000 for Diamond D S33 was Geletto Pty Ltd, The Bend, Taroom.
The Waugh family, Doogalook, Meandarra paid to $14,000 for Diamond H Tombstone T19, another son of Waco Chapman.
In all Gelletto Pty Ltd finished with three bulls to average $17,333.
Paying to $11,000 was Andrew Bassingthwaighte, Yarraonga, Wallumbilla. Mr Bassingthwaighte selected the son of Waco Chapman, Diamond J Torjan T281. The Bassingthwaighte’s added Diamond H Top-Fella to their sire battery for $9000.
Also paying $11,000 for Diamond H Tenacious T900 was the Coggan family, Sherwood, Injune.
Geoff and Leanne Hartwig, Calrossie, Eidsvold finished with two bulls paying $10,000 for Diamond H Thatcher and $9000 for Diamond H S223.
Wes and Sue Presho, Utopia Downs, Taroom finished with three bulls to average $6500, paying a top price of $9000 for Diamond H Tango, a Waco Wrangler son.
Greg and Karen Slater, Glenellen Cattle Co, Chinchilla finished with two bulls to average $6250.
Bob Lord, Kilterry, Julia Creek finished with two bulls to average $5250.
