With many repeat buyers in attendance the Rocky Santa Sale returned an overall gross of $310,000 to average $5,082 for an 80 per cent clearance at the Gracemere CQLX Complex recently.
Top price of the day was a homozygous poll sire Yarrabee Fortress 1287 offered by the Barlow Family, Yarrabee Santas who was snapped up by the Bassingthwaite Family, Yarrawonga Santa Gertrudis, Wallumbilla.
Individually the vendors results included Yarrabee with a $6,313 average and an 86 per cent clearance while the Chapman family, Rowanlea individually and with the Robertson family of Fishington Santa Gertrudis joined forces to total an 87 per cent clearance with a $4,204 average.
The Semple family from Glencol Santas averaged $4,500 with a 59 per cent clearance.
Second top price of the day was also offered by the Barlow family, Yarrabee Santas with another poll bull, Yarrabee Elmo 1279. The $14,000 sire by Yarrawonga Armstrong G932 found a new home with Barry & Tania Christensen, Camberwarra Cattle Company, Corfield.
$13,000 was the third top price of the day paid by Doraville Pastoral, Armstrong Beach who took home another poll bull from the Yarrabee Stud, Yarrabee Frontier 1299.
Frontier, the 25 month old by Myola Kinsman K17 weighed in at 918kg and was in the top 10 per cent of the Santa Gertrudis Breed for EBV traits of 200, 400 & 600 day weights plus EMA.
Volume buyers on the day included Consuelo Cattle Company, Rolleston who put together a draft of 16 bulls while Mira Cattle Company also from the Rolleston district, took home five.
