Australian Events Director, Bob Carroll, is looking forward to welcoming all visitors to the Queensland Beef Expo and a world of change and challenges.
“Now in its second year we have more exhibitors, products, engaging seminars and workshops occurring over the course of the event again being held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds from August 30 to september 1,” Bob said.
He said the seminar program will be complimented by the ‘Women on the Land’ High Tea, presented and sponsored by Fairholme College.
“Principal Linda Evans and Tracy Alder from Rural Aid will lead a fun and interesting program of speakers that is sure to be very entertaining. Tickets to the High Tea are available through our office on Freecall 1800 671 588.”
Bob said a new initiative this year is the inclusion of a safety forum and demonstration area for off-road vehicles.
“This has never been done at any field day in Australia.
“There is a woeful and growing record of deaths and injuries on Australian farms due to negligence by, and poor training of drivers of farm bikes, quad bikes, side by side off road vehicles and 4x4 vehicles.
“This safety forum and demonstration area will show how easy it is to avoid injuries and subsequently protect graziers and property owners from litigation and legal action against them and their businesses.”
He said the Centre Ring of the Showgrounds adjoining the Beef Expo will play host to the very first international Poker Ranch Sorting competition which will be staged over three days with a grand finale on the Friday night pitting the best riders in Australia against the veteran competitors from the USA.
“Organisers need more Aussie horsemen and women to register to compete and challenge the USA teams that will be flying in for the event.”
