Downs Rugby is excited to launch the Finals Series campaign with the first Super Saturday being held at Riddles Oval in Goondiwindi on August 12.
The C Grade games will be kicking off at 11am with the Chinchilla River Rats up against the Dalby Wheatmen on field 1 and Toowoomba Rangers versing UQ Gatton Black Pigs on field 2.
B Grade will then take the stage at 12:15pm with the Goondiwindi Emus playing on home soil against Toowoomba Rangers and St George Frillnecks taking on the Condamine Cods on field 2.
All A Grade games will be held on the main oval with the Toowoomba Bears taking on the Condamine Cods at 1.45pm. These two sides last met in Round 14 on the Bears Ladies Day where the Cods led for the majority of the match, however a final effort in the last 20 minutes saw the Bears secure 2 hard-fought tries to take the lead and the victory.
The final match of the day will see the Goondiwindi Emus take on the Toowoomba Rangers at 3:30pm on the main oval. It was only 3 rounds ago that these 2 powerhouses met in a thrilling battle which after 80 gruelling minutes of quality rugby ended in a 17 point draw. Equally opposed sides with bursting talent will make for an epic showdown in the main event of the day.
Next weeks Super Saturday will head out to John Ritter Oval in Dalby to determine who will host the Semi-Final on August 26 before the Grand Final at Toowoomba Sports Ground on September 2.
