Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 756 head at this week’s Prime & Store Sale.
Numbers eased on last week with values lifting across most lines. Two major export processors, two lotfeeders and a small group of local traders attended.
Butchers steers increased by 20 cents topping at 265c/kg, with limited numbers of butchers heifers on offer, prices fell to 208c. Wholesale cows were back slightly due to quality, making 207c.
Export ox gained 20c, reaching 265c. Export cows made 209c up by 4c on last week’s money. Export bulls achieved 227c. Good quality steers, heifers and young males were hard to find, with prices remaining firm.
