Burenda Angus manager Jonathan Schmidt, Dalby, has hand-picked 127 powerful well-grown Queensland-bred bulls for the annual bull sale being held at the Roma Saleyards on Wednesday, August 23 from 11am.
“We selected on weight, growth, EBV’s, raw scan data, scrotal measurements, docility and structure. We’re only selling “total package” bulls,” Jonathan said.
The draft features 10 lots with an EMA over 130cm, and 41 lots over 120cm, while 55 lots have an IMF of over six per cent.
Burenda’s best homegrown and imported sires will be well represented by their progeny at the sale, and include Burenda Haiku H40 (four), top calving specialist Burenda Geiger Counter G49 (nine), the outstanding Burenda Go Between G23 (11), the consistent and reliable Te Mania Emperor E343 (22) the growthy Prime Juggernaut J15 (seven) and docile KC Haas GPS (nine).
Auctions Plus will be active again this year with live streaming available for those unable to make the sale.
The bulls will be available for viewing at the Roma Saleyards from midday on Monday, August 21. Those wishing to inspect the Burenda herd and operation are welcome by appointment.
The sale draft have been prepared on grass, leucaena and winter oats. Weights, scans, semen and morphology data are available on the Burenda Angus website.
