The open led steer judging and auction attracted a large crowd of spectators to the Ekka on Wednesday.
Warwick teenager David Bartley knew he was looking at a champion in Limousin steer Voodoo Child.
The 594 kilogram steer, now 12 months old, was named grand champion led steer by judges Craig Price, Kilcoy Pastoral Company, Ben Davies, Thomas Foods, and Brad Stenzel, Marcelford Meats.
Voodoo Child was also the top-priced led steer in the auction this afternoon, with the Breakfast Creek Hotel forking out $56/kg dressed weight.
