The iconic Central Queensland property Tedlands sold for $9.1 million at a Hourn and Bishop Qld auction on Tuesday.

A 50 year chapter of ownership of the iconic Central Queensland property Tedlands came to a close when it sold under the hammer for $9.1 million at a Hourn and Bishop Qld auction in Rockhampton on Tuesday.

The diverse and highly productive 3285 hectare (8117 acre) Koumala property was bought by Ron, Diane and James Pullen, Codrilla, Nebo. The auction attracted eight registered bidders.

The purchase price is equal to about $2770/ha ($1121/acre).

Tedlands was bought in 1968 by a partnership of the Swanson, Glenn, Allen and Lobban families, and was offered by two of the original families to allow a partnership restructure.

The property was being run as 1200 head breeding operation. It has consistently carried 2400 branded cattle. 

The selling agent was Gary Bishop from Hourn and Bishop Qld, Moura.
