There were 390 head yarded on Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale. Cows, bulls, feeders and weaners remained firm, while veal was slightly easier to the previous sale.
Martin and Diane Clair, Mt Mee, sold lines of 20-24 month old Charolais cross steers for $1470-$1755. Bob Nicholls, Commissioners Flat, sold Droughtmaster bulls, 15-18 months, for $1050-$1800 and cows to a top of $1570.
Baker & Haseler Estates, Dayboro, sold lines of quality Droughtmaster steers, 6-7 months, for $725 and $800. John Harrison, Woolmar, sold Droughtmaster weaners for $780. David Phillips, Rothwell, sold milk tooth Charolais cross heifers for $1200-$1300.
The top steer was sold by Keith and Regina Schultz, Elimbah, for $1630. W & G Hanton, Kilcoy, sold Charolais weaner steers for $800. Diane Chambers, Neurum, sold Santa weaners, 7-8 months, with steers making $900 and heifers $720.
Darryl Kleis, Toogoolawah, sold Charolais cross weaners, 10-12 months, with steers making $1070 and heifers $880-$1070. MR Friedrich, Toogoolawah, sold Greyman male calves for $840. Colin Roberts, Nambour, sold Angus male calves for $780 and heifers for $690.
