THE highly productive 178 hectare (439 acre) inner Darling Downs property Jimna Springs sold for $1.13 million at a Ray White Rural auction held in conjunction with Bartholomew and Co in Brisbane today.
Located 6km south east of Southbrook, and 30km from Toowoomba, Jimna Springs overlooks the picturesque Southbrook and Umbiram Valley.
Jimna Springs has level to easy sloping, deep profile self mulching black soils that run up into undulating timbered basalt country. There is 134ha of cultivation, including a 20ha forage sorghum crop. The property is divided into eight main paddocks.
The property has a bore and frontage to Jimna Creek and Umbiram Creek. There is also a 48 megalitre ground water allocation.
Improvements include a three bedroom timber residence, machinery sheds, hay shed, a 20 tonne silo, and a dairy. There is about 130ha of cultivation.
