Emerald agents yarded just over 1250 head of cattle at the weekly sale on June 15.
A mixed quality yarding of store cattle was evident on the back of last week’s top quality special show sale, slaughter cow categories were well represented with a good yarding on display, while very few slaughter bullocks were in the offering.
Heavy bullocks over 550kg made to 299c to average 292c, with steers 500-550kg making to 289c to average 279c, 400-500kg steers made to 316c to average 292c, with steers 350-400kg reaching 324c to average 291c, 280-350kg steers made to 370c to average 325c, while steers in the weaner weight ranges made to 397c to average 366c.
Heavy heifers over 400kg made to 293c to average 262c, heifers 350-400kg reached 324c to average 273c, heifers 280-350kg made to 325c to average 285c, while heifers in the weaner weight ranges made to 318c to average 291c. Heavy cows over 520kg made to 255c to average 238c, while cows 450-520kg reached 248c to average 229c. No cows and cows were penned this week.

The Spencer Family, Mayfield, Willows sold Euro cross cows to 238c to weigh 647kg or $1542, Alan and Clare Kirby, Wonga, Springsure sold Euro cross cows making to 241c to weigh 626kg or $1509.
