Racehorses injured in hit and run
POLICE are investigating a two vehicle traffic crash in Allenstown, Rockhampton, early this morning.
A Queensland Police Service media spokesperson said at 3.14am a call was received to report a white van colliding with a car which was towing a horse float.
The float was tipped and two racehorses were trapped inside for 45 minutes before they could be freed by their owner.
The driver of the van left the scene.
Both horses survived.
Investigations are continuing.
