THIEVES on motorcycles have targeted nine properties in St George in a string of burglaries over the past fortnight.
Police are investigating the incidents where a firearm, two motorbikes, a quad bike, farm equipment, fuel and other personal items have been stolen.
On May 19 a shed at an airstrip at Balonne Airways was broken into with equipment stolen and several vehicles damaged.
In another linked incident, two sheep were slaughtered and stolen from a Powrunna Road property on Saturday night.
On Sunday afternoon police recovered an amount of suspected stolen property which was hidden in an old rifle range in St George.
Investigators are now trying to locate the owner of a red and white 2006 Honda XR250L dirt motorcycle which had since been repainted (pictured) and was among the recovered property.
Police are urging property owners in the St George and Roma areas to be extra vigilant.
