Numbers lifted at this week’s Dalby sale, with 4348 cattle yarded and overall quality was fair to good. All the usual export buyers were in attendance and operating.
Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to strong demand and while some added supermarket support saw medium weight yearling heifers to feed average 12c/kg dearer.
Bullocks sold to a dearer trend and cows also experienced a dearer market to average 4c to 13c better.
Medium weight yearling steers sold from 322.2c to 350.2c to average 333.8c with medium weight yearling heifers making from 300c to 326.2 and averaging 313.9c.
Grown steers 500-600kg made from 289.2c to 307.2c, back 5c with grown heifers to feed averaging 282.2c, up 8c. Medium weight cows made from 221.2c to 228c and heavy weights made to 245.2c to average 240.3c. The best bull made 304.2c.
