Numbers down at Mareeba
Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 273 head at Tueday’s Prime and Store Cattle Sale. One major export processor with a smaller group of local wholesale processors and re-stockers competed on the yarding.
Butchers steers sold to 23c/kg above last week’s top of 260.2c. Butchers heifers were back 34c on last week’s top of 225.2c. Wholesale cows gained 22c on last week. Export Ox were up 27c on last week. Cows were 20c above last week and bull prices came back 77c on last week. Store cattle prices decreased due to numbers and quality being back this week.
