RURAL DISCOVERY DAY: Sophie Carew, Zaylee Spohn and Dallas Hill (9) from Our Lady of Assumption School at Enoggera, were all smiles in the Farmyard Friends exhibit.
THE Ekka’s Rural Discovery Day proved a huge success with more than 1000 students, 250 teachers and 40 exhibitors taking part.
The many ‘ag-tivities’ included making and tasting veggie creations using fresh fruit and vegetables, planting seeds and designing gardens, and learning how to grow pineapples and care for sheep.
The Farmyard Friends exhibit also proved very popular, with the kids getting up close to kid goats, chickens, piglets and other baby animals. The Ekka is on from August 11 to 20.
