A FEW hours into judging at the Queensland State Sheep Show in Charleville and the Jolly Jumbuck Poll Merino Stud, Mitchell has already claimed their first Grand Championship.
Felicity, Charlie and Lachie Brumpton were awarded the Grand Champion All Purpose Merino with a ram from their stud, Jolly Jumbuck Poll Merinos.
Judges Tom Davidson, Gulnare, South Australia and Steven Bolt, Corrigin, Western Australia and associate judge Matthew Baker, Barcaldine Downs, Barcaldine couldn’t go past the ram which was also named the Champion All Purpose Ram.
The title was contested by Wilgunya Merino Stud, Dirranbandi, who claimed the Champion All Purpose Ewe.
Felicity Brumpton was on hand to accept the trophy and judge Tom Davidson said she should be very proud of the exhibit.
“He ticks all the boxes for us,” he said.
